IDM RG-5200 Unified Communication Gateway

I       Overview

1.1       Summary

The IDM RG-5200 series is a modular integrated dispatch network gateway developed by Raytrans for special applications. It has powerful signaling and media processing capabilities and integrates various communication interfaces. It supports E1, FXO/FXS, 4G LTE, trunking interfaces/radios/handhelds, audio/shortwave/ultra-shortwave, E&M interfaces, magnet interfaces, SIP, etc. With dual power support, it is mainly used in IPCC, SIP dispatch, unified communications, and other specific industries.

1.2       Performance Features

(1).  19-inch 3U rack-mounted design with 15 slots: 2 main control board slots, 2 power slots, 1 network management board slot, and 10 service board slots;

(2).  Main control board: supports dual main control redundancy protection, handles signaling and media processing, provides 4 G.703 E1 interfaces, supports SIP protocol, G.711 U-Law and A-Law, G.711 Appendix 1, G.723.1 and G.723.1 Annex A, G.729 Annex A and Annex B voice codecs, supports IP, NAT, ICMP, ARP, HTTP, BOOTP, FTP, TFTP, DHCP, SNMP, Diff-Serv network protocols, supports G.168 protocol with a maximum delay of 128ms;

(3). PBX board: provides SIP terminal registration services and management, call recording, etc. Minimum configuration supports 100 extensions/30 concurrent calls, maximum supports 500 extensions/200 concurrent calls;

(4).  Network management board: provides 4 Gigabit Ethernet interfaces (option for 2 optical + 2 electrical or 4 electrical interfaces), supports link aggregation;

(5).       System clock supports local clock, line recovery clock, and other clock modes;

(6).  Magnet access board supports 4 magnet telephone access, converting magnet telephone signaling and SIP signaling, with options for a regular magnet interface or 2100Hz carrier magnet interface;

(7).       Analog telephone access board supports 10 analog telephone (FXO/FXS) interfaces;

(8).       Supports SNMP-based network management system;

(9).       Provides 10 service slots, which can be expanded by inserting various functional boards to realize communication transmission/access, signaling conversion, and dispatch functions. Supported functional boards include:

u       Audio access board: Provides 4 E/M 2/4-wire interfaces;

u       LTE access board: Supports 1 4G LTE access;

u    Radio access board: Supports 4 radio service interfaces, enabling shortwave/ultra-shortwave radio access to the SIP softswitch system;

u   Trunking access board: Supports 4 trunking service interfaces for trunking radio access to the SIP softswitch system;

u       Echo cancellation board: Supports 600ms delay, applicable in large-delay scenarios like satellite transmission;

u   General service board: Provides 4 general 64K service slots, supports FXO/FXS, magnet, E/M 2-wire/4-wire, radio, etc. for mixed insertion, enabling multiple voice services access and SIP conversion;

u       Supports co-line voice services, using E1 lines for cascading transmission.

II       Device Structure

The IDM RG-5200 device features a standard 19-inch, 3U chassis. The design is compact, maximizing the use of the front panel for easy user operation. The front panel includes Ethernet interfaces, Ethernet management interfaces, CPU console interfaces, power terminals, power switches, and various indicators. The layout also includes button switches and DIP switches.

4.6       Magnet Interface

The magnet access board supports 4 magnet lines, converting magnet phone signaling and SIP signaling. It supports both regular magnet interfaces and 2100Hz carrier magnet interfaces.

(1).       Regular Magnet

u  Converts user voice signals and board signals, digital signaling, and line status, providing recognition and status information to the network management system.

u    Can be used as an interface between magnet telephones, magnet switches, and between them.

(2).       2100Hz Carrier Magnet

u Converts 2100Hz carrier signaling to ring or 16-time-slot digital signaling, providing recognition and status information to the network management system.

4.7       Trunking Interface

u     Supports SIP protocol, can join SIP softswitch server conference rooms.

u     Supports PTT signaling, can define the validity of E&M signaling, supports PTT handset and trunking radio access.

4.8       Radio Interface

u       Allows control of any radio (mute, ban talk, record, delete, add, etc.)

u       Control methods for transmitting console voice to radio include PTT control, VAD, and PAD.

u       Supports integration with SIP systems for voice communication and network command.

u       Offers remote network control over radio functions like PTT, frequency channel switching, and squelch.

u       Web interface for configuration management.
